In August 2008 15billion took over the contract to provide the careers focussed Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) service to young people aged 13 - 19 in Newham. The service provides a comprehensive service to all young people in schools, colleges and training providers, supporting their progression into post 16 education, employment and training (EET) opportunities, and specialised services to young people with special educational needs up to age 25.
The service consists of 11.5 Careers/ Personal Advisers, three Employment and Training Advisers (ETAs), two Special Educational Needs PAs, two Team Leaders , one youth offending team PA and an Area Manager, plus administrative support.
Advisers provide support services to young people at their local Connexions Shops, Schools and Colleges and work closely with a range of partners and specialist services to provide a comprehensive IAG service to young people in education and the community, especially those who are seeking education, employment and training.
Newham also produce a publication and website for young people aged 14 - 19 called SUSSED.
