This interactive course will explore perceptions, values and approach in relation to working with families. Participants will be equipped with a range of approaches to undertaking effective work with families.

By the end of the session, learners will have:

  • Explored their own relationship with and perception and expectation of family and the dynamics that contribute to it.
  • Considered some of the challenges experienced by parents and carers as people, in addition to within their parental role.
  • Identified a range of approaches to working with families and evaluate their effectiveness within the professional arena.
